St. Luke's Breast Cancer Detection Center: Meridian, E. Louise Dr.

Today’s women lead increasingly busy lives. Even so, it’s important to take time out for routine breast cancer screening, because all women are at risk. At this facility, St. Luke’s provides 3D screening mammography, and education in order to identify cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage.

St. Luke's believes in providing high quality comprehensive breast care services and empowering patients to partner in their own breast health care. You are your best advocate beginning with breast health education, self-exams, and annual screenings to improve the chances of early detection. Breast cancer, when caught early, is very treatable and offers the best chance for long term survival. Knowing your risk, breast symptoms to look for, and when to start screening is key to early detection. At St. Luke's, we offer comprehensive breast screening and prevention services.

Screening Recommendations
  • The American College of Radiology and National Comprehensive Cancer Network recommends annual 3D screening mammography beginning at age 40 for average risk women. 
  • However, if you are at higher risk of developing breast cancer you may need to begin screening at a younger age. You should talk with your doctor or health care provider about when you should begin screening.

No matter where you live, you still may be able to receive your mammogram close to home when our Breast Health Mobile Clinic rolls into town. We have two mobile clinics that travel to rural locations in the central, southern, and southwest areas of Idaho as well as eastern Oregon, providing over 2,000 mammograms every year. This broad geographic coverage relieves the time, burden, and cost of traveling long distances for care.
